This is our story. I am Camaren and my partner is Bryan. Our story is about a boy named Christopher who does something extraordinary.
Christopher's Big Discovery

Monday morning, the 12th of October, Christopher's hard work and belief in himself had finally brought him to the moment of truth. So many had doubted him. He was laughed at, made fun of, and criticized for the work he was doing and the risks he was taking to accomplish his goals. As the day began he saw what he had hoped and believed he'd see. An island, glorious in its colors and reflection of sunlight, and covered with trees. The people who lived there were waving and welcoming him to their home. They were amazed and as eager to meet him as he was to meet them.
Christopher signaled for his ships to dock the boats and walk ashore. He left his own boat and went to greet the people who were now surrounding the boat.
As he walked to the shore, Christopher was excited and happy with how nice and welcoming the people were. The water was transparent blue and the leaves in the trees were like emeralds. One of the people on the island handed Christopher a basket of fruit. He took a bite of one of the fruits and smiled as the flavor danced in his mouth.
We celebrate this moment every year as an important moment in US history. It is the day that Christopher Columbus discovered a new world after showing incredible determination and belief in himself.
